April/May 2018: Spring Prep & Clean-up Days
MNDoT will draft up a landscape plan, and will continue to remove/treat buckthorn, clear hillsides, repair sound walls, and make other improvements as needed in phases 1 and 2 and 3 in preparation of the plantings in phase 3.
Garden Adopters will prep perennial beds in phase 1 and 2 for 2018 growing season. Volunteers will maintain the plantings in phases 1 and 2, activity days TBD.
June-July 2018: Fun in the sun days – Phase 2
Various educational groups will be on site to teach and celebrate Little Bohemia Trail, including pollinator awareness and more.
Aug–October 2018: Planting
Exact date TBD. Volunteers will plant trees, shrubs, and perennials in phase 3, per MNDoT’s landscape designs, day TBD.
Garden Adopters will weed, water, and pick up trash on an ongoing basis with a focus in phase 1, 2 and 3.
November 2018: Winter Prep
Garden Adopters will prepare garden beds and trees for winter. Remove water bags, wrap and plastic protection for trunks.
