Volunteer opportunity: planting tree event Sept 25

Save the dates: Sept 23–25 help plant trees, shrubs, and perennials in the heart of St Paul within the thriving Little Bohemia neighborhood.

Restore an urban forest site with other volunteers as part of a MNDOT Community Roadside Partnership in St Paul. MN Nature is leading the three-phase landscape restoration project to transform an abandoned site into “Little Bohemia Trail,” an urban nature and community site in the W7th Little Bohemia Neighborhood.

The project benefits:

• Build Community
• Engage & Educate Community
• Feed and House Bees, Butterflies, Birds
• Create a Wildlife Corridor for Red Fox, Coyote, Deer, And Others
• Increase Health
• Reduce Urban Heat-Island Effect & Increase Climate Resiliency
• Decrease Freeway Noise in Neighborhood
• Provide Food (Fruit and Nut Trees, Berries, Herbs, and More!)

There Are Three Planting Days:

09/23/2016   6:00 pm – 8 pm, Prep Tree and Plant Sites (Dig Holes, Stage Mulch, etc.)

09/24/2016   6:00 pm – 8 pm, Prep & Plant Tree Sites (Dig Holes, Stage Mulch, Plant some trees!)

09/25/2016    8:30 am – 3:00 pm, Plant everything!

How You Can Help

We’d love to see you at the event! Stop by to say “hi” or bring your family to help plant, take the new Tree Trek along the trail, or generally be part of this festive event.
